RTI Activist who exposed Adarsh Scam threatened-Chief Minister Assures action

Death Looming on RTI Activists

RTI activist Santosh Daundkar who was the first one to expose the Adarsh scam was threatened on Saturday evening. Santosh Daundkar was threatened by a 50 year old man Daniel Abrahim who in fact is associated with the Builder who is involved in the Scam.

As per Santosh he had complained to the authorities regarding a property belonging to the civic body being illegally used by the builder in {BIT} Bombay Improvement Trust area, for which the builder and his men had targeted him.

Nagpada police station has registered a case against Abraham under sections 341 (wrongful restraint), 336 (endangering life or personal safety of others) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of IPC, there are 3 more accused in the case for whom the Police are on a look out who were with Abraham when the incident happened. Daundkar was on his way home when Abraham stopped him and abused him and also threatened him for his life,As per Santosh a liquor bottle was also thrown at him for complaining about the builder with whom Abraham was working on the instruction of the builder involved in BIT redevelopment project.

After the attack on Santosh Daundkar in Mumbai, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan has promised to look into the matter,the C.M also referred RTI as one of the biggest achievements of the UPA government and said if People who are using the Act are getting threatened it will be looked in to seriously.
