Invitation for RTI Activist’s Union Meeting on Building & Coop. Hsg. Soc. matters on Sat. 4 June At Dadar East

Dear friends,

You are invited to a meeting of RTI Activist’s Union on Building & Land issues in Mumbai Metropolitan Region (Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Thane etc).

Focus on Solutions to Problems of CHS members. The discussion will be for strengthening the hands of individual flat owners struggling for justice against managing committees of their societies, and against builders & redevelopers. Currently, such people are helpless, being in a minority. We will try to assist them in gaining strength by forming mutual help-groups and knowledge-circles, and by the use of various methods like RTI, Consumer Complaint, Complaint to Deputy Registrar of CHS, etc.

People with Knowledge, Experience & Success Stories in Cooperative Society matters are invited to come and share their methods, for the welfare of all citizens. Please come with xerox copies of necessary documents for our guidance.

    There IS High handed-ness by CHS & committees, in Parsi Colony; Dadar East. :

    1. Promoter / Chairman of CHS constructed a Garage ostensibly for car’s security from theft & then sold it to the highest bidder, as an architect’s Office, who later sold it to a book / art store.

    Unmindful of disturbance caused to residents who live a few feet away.

    2. Chairman of CHS Usurped a small cabin under the main wooden stair case where garden implements were kept earlier, for his exclusive use.

    3. Chairman allowed a supporting member to CONVERT the original 3rd floor landing (where brooms, ladders & cleaning material for & of the building were kept) into an air conditioned room for his EXCLUSIVE USE, with an entrance from the veranda.

    Unmindful of the EXTRA LOAD on the nearly 80 year old building.

    4. Chairman not only enclosed a portion of a terrace for his EXCLUSIVE USE, but expects ALL members of the CHS to pay for the maintenance for “HIS” terrace.

    5. Chairman & Secretary confiscated a parking lot of a member & gave it to another member who already had a parking lot.

    6. All the above was / IS not an opinion or conjecture it can be verified as Fact.

    7. The Chairman CHS is very prompt in sending legal notices to & complains to the Police against dissenting members of the CHS to intimidate them.

    i’ll be most grateful for pointing me in the right direction to solve this problem.

    i am an elderly handicapped Service Vetran.
